Coach Autry’s 1998-1997 All Decade Team

(Compiled by Coach Jesse L. Autry, Coach Todd Leggroan and Coach Rick Newton)

After winning a 10th Conference Title in a row and seeing over 320 young men survive our program over the last ten years, it seemed fitting to pick an All Decade Team.  These choices were made based on athletic performance, work ethic, team attitude, leadership, character and importance to team success.  To be considered for the All Decade Team, an athlete had to have completed his senior year of high school sports.

Undoubtedly, it will be noticed that although the list begins in 1998 (meaning the Class of 1999 would be the first to be eligible for the list) no one from that class made the list.  That is because the team was built young and there were no graduates from that season.

Although the first Championship under Coach Autry was not won until 1998, two young men helped lay the foundation for this program in his first year of coaching.  Unfortunately, they graduated the year before this string of titles started.  On a list like this, they must be mentioned, as they are as much a part of this tradition as anyone one of the gentlemen above:

From the Class of 1998, Daniel Fillmore and Randy Newcomer.
